How much is a Private Medical telehealth consultation?

A standard 15-minute video consultation with one of our Australian GPs is a flat $89. Longer and specialty appointments are listed in our Schedule of Fees.

How does a Private Medical telehealth consultation work?

Book online or by phone, choose a time, complete payment, and you'll receive a confirmation email and SMS with a video link. At your appointment time, click the link — your doctor appears on screen. You'll need a device with a camera, microphone and an internet connection.

Are consults covered by Medicare?

Our telehealth consultations do not attract a Medicare rebate, because we don't see patients in a physical clinic. This is part of what allows us to keep care private and unhurried.

Can a Private Medical GP provide a prescription?

Yes. After your consult we can send an eScript to your phone if you have a Medicare card, or send the prescription directly to a pharmacy of your choice. Please note we do not prescribe Schedule 8 medications.

Can a Private Medical GP provide a specialist referral?

Yes. Our GPs regularly write referrals for specialists, imaging and pathology. Referrals can be emailed to you or sent directly to your specialist or clinic.

Can I have a consultation from anywhere in Australia?

Yes — any location in Australia with a Wi-Fi or mobile data connection. Our doctors only consult with people within Australia.

Do I need a Medicare card?

No. You can book and speak to one of our online GPs without a Medicare card. If you need a prescription, we'll send it directly to your chosen pharmacy.

Is there anything you can't help with?

For emergencies and serious medical conditions, please call 000 or attend your nearest emergency department. We also can't prescribe Schedule 8 or addiction medications — please see your usual doctor in person for these.
