• –This fee provides you a 15-minute video consultation with one of our experienced Private Medical Online GPs, from any Australia-wide location.

Book Online:

You can book and attend a Private Medical Telehealth consultation in six easy steps:

1. Book your telehealth appointment online by going to our booking portal.
2. Select the day, time and appointment type that you would like.
3. Enter your details, review the booking details, and confirm.
4. You will then be able to process payment for your consultation.
5. Once payment has been made, you will be sent an email and an SMS with the confirmation details, as well as a link to join your video consultation.
6. To join your Telehealth consultation, simply click on the link that you were sent at the time of your appointment, and the doctor will pop up via a video to speak with you face to face. Please note: You will need to ensure your device has a working camera, speakers, and a microphone.

Book Over the Phone:

• –If you would prefer to book your telehealth appointment over the phone, please contact us on 135 001 and our staff will advise you about next steps.
• –Following your Telehealth consultation, the doctor can send prescriptions, referrals, medical certificates etc. as required.

• –A Private Medical Online GP can provide you with all the same things that a doctor in a bricks and mortar clinic can provide you with.
• –Following your telehealth appointment, the Private Medical online doctor and/or our Administration team will send you prescriptions, referrals, medical certificates etc. via email, if deemed necessary by the doctor.

• –Unfortunately, our telehealth appointments do not attract a Medicare rebate because we do not see our patients in a physical medical clinic.

• –Yes! Following your telehealth appointment, the Private Medical doctor can send you an e-script if you have a Medicare card, or if not, we can send your prescription directly to a pharmacy.
• –Please note: We do not prescribe schedule 8 medication. These medications are Controlled Drugs, or Drugs of Addiction. Examples include opioids (morphine, fentanyl), oxycodone, methylphenidate, and alprazolam. They require strict prescription controls, secure storage, and specialised prescribing authority for long-term use. You will need to see your usual doctor, or a doctor face to face physically, to obtain these.

• –Yes! Many specialists require a GP referral before you can book a consultation. Private Medical’s Online GPs work with you to determine the referrals you need. These can be emailed to you or sent directly to the clinic or specialist you are wanting to see.

• –Yes, we are unable to assist individuals with the following:
• –For emergencies and serious medical conditions, your local hospital emergency department, or urgent care clinic are better suited to care for your needs.
• –If you are seeking a prescription for a Schedule 8 controlled drug or any drug of addiction, please do not proceed with a video consultation as our doctors will not prescribe these restricted medications and a refund will not be issued for patients booking appointments for this reason.

• –Yes! You can book a Private Medical telehealth appointment from any location with a Wi-Fi connection across Australia.
• –You just need to ensure that you have a Wi-Fi connection, so that you can join the video consultation.

• –No! If you do not have a Medicare card, you can still book and speak to a Private Medical Online GP.
• –If you need a prescription but do not have a Medicare card, we will send the prescription directly to the pharmacy of your choice.

• –No. Unfortunately, Private Medical’s Online GPs can only speak with people within Australia.
• –However, if you are an overseas visitor or temporary resident inside Australia, our Private Medical Online GPs can assist you.
